there is a 100m a 200m a 400m in straight races and hurdles is there not? plus there are the relays that go along with all of those, plus distance races.
how is a runner at a disadvantage oppurtunity wise?

some of the guys that phelps is beating are swimming times that would've beaten previous world records. I've never seen that in track.

The big difference is the relay's there are only 2 in the olympics, 4X100 and 4X400, Phelps alone is in 3 different relays. he's doing the 100 and 200 free relay

gymnastics looks a lot harder than both to me and from what I've seen synchronized diving looks damn hard, doesn't make them better olympians.
