Danny Wuerffel

He finished his Gator career by completing 708 of 1,170 passes for 10,875 yards with 114 touchdown passes, the best in SEC history and second-most in major college history. His career pass efficiency rating of 163.56 was the best in major college history and his percentage of passes which went for a touchdown (9.74) ranked first in collegiate history. In 1995, his efficiency rating of 178.4 set a single-season collegiate record. During his Heisman-winning season of 1996, he completed 207 of 360 passes for 3,625 yards (an SEC record at the time) for 39 touchdowns (leading the nation) and his efficiency rating of 170.6 made him the first quarterback to ever post a rating of 170 or better in back-to-back years.

I don't care that he was a Gator. That's pretty pimp.

Tim Tebow: 111 career TDs and counting in the SEC, with a possible 3rd NC this year. ~7000 yards passing with a 171 rating. He also has ~2300 rushing yards.

You have to give Tebow some credit on the first national title in 2006. He had 13 TDs that year and without him, they don't win, especially against LSU.

Matt Leinart: 70 career TDs in the Pac10. ~7000 yards passing. 156.5 rating. -8 (yes that's right, negative 8) career rushing yards.

thats great, but when this season is over, Tebow will be a 3 year starter

Leinart started for 2 years

not to mention the 14 games Tebow played in heavily as a Freshman

do the math

Leinart started for 3 yrs, and by my count had 108 total TDs and over 10000 passing yds, unless you guys were only looking at his totals over 2 yrs.

Torreta was better than Kelly, Walsh, Dorsey, and Erickson. Because his pro career was none people forget how good he was in college

Torretta was not good at all. You only think he was good b/c of the talent around him. He had NO GAME, NO ARM, NO MOBILITY, and just plain sucked. He nearly cost Miami several losses due to his poor arse play. Steve Walsh was a BETTER college QB than Torretta. He had no arm either but he had game and knew how to work w/in his ability. Torretta thought he had Vinny's arm, but didn't realize he was a Shetland pony in a stable of thoroughbreds.

No dude, apparently you didn't hear me. The discussion is over, and we have the correct answer: Tommie f'n Frazier.

Actually, I was. I followed that entire season, including their 84-13 drubbing of Minnesota in the Metrodome against Lou Holtz's Gophers, 70+ pts. against Syracuse, their 44-6 win against defending national champion Penn State, and their game against Colorado where they scored 42 points in 3 minutes. The 95 team was much better, IMO.

1993 vs. Florida St. in the Orange Bowl (lost 18-16, but Frazier was named MVP... lost on last-second FG attempt which was wide left)

1994 vs. Miami in the Orange Bowl (Nebraska 24, Miami 17)

1995 vs. Florida in the Fiesta Bowl (Nebraska 62, Florida 24)

Um, you need to go watch the 1995 Fiesta Bowl, my friend, and then tell me who the greatest college QB of all-time is.
