Ryan is no doubt the greatest player out of the group and a living legend, but he couldnt possibly be put ahead of Biggio and Bagwell when considering the greatest Astro. Hell he has his jersey retired by 2 other teams... Bags and Big only wore 1 jersey.

He was drafted by the Red Sox, but did he ever play for them?

No, he was traded for a relief pitcher while he was still a 3rd baseman in the Sox minor league system.

Since his statue is in centerfield of Ballpark at Arlington, I'm not counting him eligible as an Astro. He was a bad man in the orange rainbow jersey, though.

Ryan led the Astros to three playoff appearances including two LCSs. He most definitely counts as an Astro.

Bagwell's their greatest player by a mile. His counting numbers don't do justice to what a great player he was. He's arguably the greatest all-around 1st baseman to ever play the game.

It's certainly not a strong argument. Ever heard of Keith Hernandez or Albert Pujols. I mean, Bags was good, but not in the greatest 1st baseman discussion.

Reread his post.

When it comes to best first basemen period, he's in the top five. Better than Keith Hernandez.
