I think AU 04 is overrated in this category. I think USC would have beat them pretty easily
they wouldn't have hung the speed limit on them like they did to OU. Auburn's defense was pretty legit, it would have been a much better game.

If you could somehow played a game between that Penn St team against the Miami team of 86 the scoreboard would have had to been shipped out for repair at halftime.
PSU
Carter

Juaravicious (sp) who was a bit player

that Penn State team=
Penn State 38 USC 14
Penn State 63 Ohio St. 14
Penn State 61 Iowa 21
Penn State 38 Oregon 20 (Rose Bowl)
I think Bobby Engram was on that team as well

2006 LSU. We were the best team that year.

LSU fumbled at the one yard line after they had scored on the play before but were ruled down at the one. We fumbled a punt that gave Florida a short field that led to a TD, and we fumbled a kickoff for a safety. And we were fricked out of the Auburn game by the officials.
At the end of the year, no one could have beaten LSU except for maybe Florida.

2001 Oregon
2002 Miami
2004 Auburn
2005 USC
2006 LSU
2008 Texas
These are the ones from this decade IMO.

down the stretch they were playing amazing ball
in the swamp we couldn't have fricked ourselves more though. Game wasn't as bad as it looked

08 Texas shouldve lost by 20 to OU just like 09 Texas should have

no doubt, but to say that that LSU team over the corse of the season was the best team, with the inconsistant offense and losing to UF, is borderline retarded imo

08 texas was not a great team

'95 Florida was a great team that would've won it most other years except they ran into the buzzsaw that was '95 Nebraska and got raped.

LSU was better than UF that year. Ohio State wouldn't have been worthy of playing on the same field as LSU that year either.

well when Les wants to run it up the middle with shitty fat injured RBs instead of letting a #1 pick QB throw to 2 first round pick WRs and Early Doucet, inconsistant is what you get.

good reason to not have preseason polls
Its a shsme people don't realize how stupid this is.
There were 3 undefeated teams. Auburn starting #3 would have made no difference

I'm saying they were the best team in the country at the end of the year. And Florida won a lot of close games that year, so it's not like they were a dominant team.
From week 7 on, LSU was the best team in the country.

They outscored opponents 551-244, or 42ppg scored and 18ppg given up.
They had a pretty solid defense, and the most efficient QB in the country.
They were 4-1 vs top 10 teams.
They were pretty damn good. Really, most of these teams aren't great. 2002 Miami and 2005 USC are the only ones I'd really consider for great, but since it's a loose term, I just threw out every really really good team that could have won a title that year.
