Grayson Allen's 10.31 lane agility speed is one of the five best marks in our NBA Combine database's history. Seems like he's going to end up testing off the charts here athletically.

Very intriguing draft prospect, Duke SG Grayson Allen, will be interviewing with the #Twolves in Chicago. He wasn't on their Day 1 interview list. Interviews continue today and tomorrow.

Some interesting early @DukeMBB-related numbers from the NBA Draft Combine: Grayson Allen sits atop the lane agility test leaderboard and Trevon Duval had the highest standing vertical jump and the second-highest max vertical jump (running start).

It was always hilarious watching people say his athletic ability would hold him back

People only saw he was white. Allen has freak leaping ability

Reauxl remember when we argued for pages and you said Allen wasn’t athletic and that would be what holds him back?

You want to walk that back now?

quote:

Allen posted a lane agility time of 10.31 seconds. According to ESPN draft analyst Jonathon Givony, that’s the fifth-best mark in NBA Combine database history, dating back to 2000. He also had the second-best shuttle run time (3.4 seconds) in the combine and tied for the fourth-highest in both max vertical leap (40.5”) and standing vertical (32.5”) among those who worked out this year.

From SB Nation:

quote:

Jamison Brewer set the mark in 2001 with a ridiculous lane agility time of 9.65 seconds. Brewer played a total of 468 minutes in the NBA and scored 89 points over four seasons.

DRILL MEASUREMENT RANK
Lane agility (seconds) 10.31 1st
Shuttle run (seconds) 3.40 2nd
Three quarter sprint (seconds) 3.15 9th
Standing vertical (inches) 32.5 5th
Max vertical (inches) 40.5 4th

quote:

Despite his shortcomings and inconsistencies in college, Allen should become a solid 3-point threat with excellent vision from the off-guard position. His athleticism has always been considered above average, but the 22-year-old's combine measurements were undeniably elite.

quote:

There are still several prospects who have yet to compete in the strength and agility portion of the combine, but that shouldn't diminish how spectacular Allen performed. He outperformed expected first-rounders Jalen Brunson, Khyri Thomas, and Bruce Brown in every listed category, likely securing a spot in the top 30

Grayson is old news. Big dick Donte D is the white guy bandwagon now.
quote:

During athletic testing, the man known as “The Big Ragu,” busted out a combine-best standing vertical leap of 34.5 inches, and tied for the best max vertical leap at 42 inches. Those are huge numbers for DiVincenzo and much better than expected. He also finished fifth in the lane agility drill (10.72 seconds), was 11th in the shuttle run (3.11 seconds) and ninth in the three-quarter sprint (3.11 seconds).

Combines are stupid in both sports.

You have enough tape of a guy who played at Duke forever.

What's the combine for?

Didn't Michael Olowakandi blow away the combine?

By NBA standards his vertical is good but hardly freakish

I think he can be a good role player but the fact he tested out so athletic only raises more questions for me as to why he looked so average/bad defensively at Duke. He looked straight up slow in man defense in college and it clearly wasn’t an athleticism issue. He wasn’t exactly carrying a big load offensively either, his productivity decreased as his career went on. That said I think he could be a steal late in the first
