Looking to get a new driver in the next few days. I been having a Taylormade RBZ with extra stiff shaft for last few years. Should I stick with an extra stiff or just try to use a stock stiff shaft with whatever driver I decide on?

also is it worth going get fitted for a driver to see if I need stiff or extra

You should think more than just stiff or x-stiff if you want a custom shaft. Shafts all have different characteristics.
A proper fitting would help figure what shaft and what flex would help you.

I'll tell you this, nothing improves your game like a $500 driver....

My thought is that you don't want your driver shaft to get too out of family with your other clubs.
Club fitting is a good idea.
