North Carolina's Heaven Fitch becomes first female wrestling champion

Per HighSchoolOT.com, Fitch scored a pin in her first match, won her semifinal 9-4 and came out on top in the championship with an 11-3 major decision. She faced only boys.

When I went to HS, I had a kid in my class who weighed around 100 pounds. He wasn’t athletic at all, but he was one of our schools most accomplished wrestlers - because often he didn’t even have to wrestle. No one else was in his weight class and he won by default

Good for her. People here are mocking this, but I am sure she was very talented and thus way she won. Given the fact she only had 1 pin means she was likely wasn't stronger than them but knew more technique.
