He brought an arsenal of guns to work bc he was moving?? WTF... That just smells of a BS explanation. Come on man you can't really believe that load of shite...

I was with you on the "he was just acting stupid" explanation until I heard that.

it's true

now crit? he's the one who had a gun hidden somewhere, got pissed, loaded it, and waved it around and danced with it

the real punishment for arenas/crit would be to be forced into a 2-week gambling session with charles oakley. i'd like to see them get into the same "big man" arguments with oak as the opposing figure

oak knows how to get his gambling winnings back

-1 year suspension to continue to rehab his injuries
-he's going to get his contract bought out for probably $30-50M
-THEN he's going to be a free agent and get a new contract

all for serving 1-3 months (my guess) in prison for bringing UNLOADED guns to his locker

BUT he'll still have a FELONY on his record. Good luck trying to find a good job after his NBA career is over.

a. non-violent offense. no way an arbitor will go along with that argument

b. the league has already punished him

quote:

Part of the reason why it is difficult to invoke the moral turpitude clause is the collective bargaining agreement forbids separate punishments from the league and a team for the same incident

it's still a felony ... and he had priors for possession

I'm not so sure voiding a contract is considered a "punishment" in the same way fines and suspensions are

will be an interesting precedent regardless the outcome

Still pretty if jail time is involved. Wizards have a chance of voiding. I'm just not sure the probability of that...

also what arenas did likely isn't bad enough to have his contract voided

I read a pretty length article the other day on how difficult it would be for the Wiz to void his contract. It would involve a lot of legal proceedings and they'd likely lose

Don't agree with what??

That the Wizards can void if jail time? ESPN kept saying that yesterday as kind of a side note. I'm just repeating what I heard...

I have a feeling he will get some sort of jail time since guns and athlets are such hot topics nowadays..

I wonder if the pre-game gun show will have any effect on all this

Also is it a done deal that Stern will let Arenas back in the NBA next season, assuming he is not in jail???
