Georgia Tech fans won't need to hit the ATM to pay for snacks and drinks at games soon, as the school reached a deal to become the first college program to use bitcoin for concessions sales.
The school announced the agreement Wednesday with BitPay, a bitcoin processing company. It will allow fans to purchase concessions in the student section at Bobby Dodd Stadium using the Internet currency beginning with Saturday night's game against Miami.
Students on campus also will be able to use bitcoin for dining and shopping on campus.

It's a PR move more than anything, I highly doubt they expect students to pay with bitcoins.
I did find out this Bitpay company was founded by GT grads and apparently the company is also sponsoring a bowl this season?

I wonder if they will qualify for the Bitcoin Bowl in St.Petersburg later this year?

This is really dumb.
Why?
Bitcoin almost always has lower fees than credit cards so it saves GT money.

Its really sad that he quit the board because a crypto currency wasn't performing well!

No,
He left because he was doxxed by someone on the site. Bitcoin hasn't been doing poorly at all, as evidenced by the article.
I'd leave the subject alone, doxxing is dark magic, Harry Potter.

I don't think it was that as much as it was people around here not being accepting of it. And honestly, I don't blame them. I still haven't gotten a good answer as to why I should own some of these things other than I can buy stuff on the black market. And now I guess I can go to Georgia Tech home games and buy a hot dog.
ETA: And I agree with above, dude was out there but I enjoyed his posts as well.

People on the Poliboard were posting info they found online about certain posters. I actually think Wiki might have been banned in the whole dispute though. Not certain at all though.

Someone responded to Wiki using his initials, an implicit threat that he knew who WikiTiger was and it pissed Wiki off.
There might have been more to it but I'm not sure. I do recall seeing him get threatened like that though.
