Gary Danielson named best football announcer.

The Sporting News has chosen Gary Danielson as the best football announcer out there.
Huh? I don't get it. This has got to be a joke.
1. Gary Danielson, CBS
What we like: He explains it before most of us have seen it.
2. Cris Collinsworth, NBC
What we like: He has a wry sense of humor, plus the insight of a three-time Pro Bowl receiver.
3. Al Michaels, NBC
What we like: He has an ability to paint a picture with words and put a game in context -- not to mention that voice.
4. Phil Simms, CBS
What we like: Thirty years after the former quarterback was the Giants' first draft choice, he still watches the NFL with wonder.
5. Kirk Herbstreit, ABC/ESPN
What we like: A former Ohio State quarterback, his polished analysis is educated and ultra- opinionated but delivered without haughtiness.
For the rest of them.

Aikman is a real good analyst, as is blackledge. YOu guys need to check out Wolfley too of Arizona radio. that guy is funny

Yeah and other than the fact that it was on fire that house would've been a damn fine investment.
I ,personally, think he sucks. I thought maybe it was because of the fact that hes seems biased against Alabama, but then I listened to a game I had no interest in. I realized he really does SUCK!

Verne was the one who brought up Ingram's Dad.
I just just can't stand to listen to Danielson. He interjects himself into the game and takes the fun out of watching it. He might be knowledgeable. He is knowledgeable, but no one ever taught him that less is more.
His insights would have much more weight if he didn't dilute them with his ceaseless rambling.

You gumps are funny. I guarantee your dumbasses did not think Danielson sucked last year and the reason you don't like him now is the ref thing (which he just points out the obvious bad calls and does not get into conspiracies).

God damn right. Franklin getting the shaft for dissing Holly Rowe on tv hurt us all, and Blackledge, in my opinion, is the best in the college game doing commentary. They belong together on Sat nights.
