usc's campus is horrible in that respect (robbery, carjacking, assault, theft, and rape).

did you understand the context of my post? so because of 1 horrible crime, LSU is the most dangerous campus and USC is the safest since they haven't had a murder in years? im not saying this is the case for the lsu murders, but a burglary or drug deal can go wrong at any school. does that automatically mean the campus is all of a sudden dangerous? no, it doesn't. look at the big picture assfrick. USC has a bigger and more obvious crime problem for the more common violent crimes (robbery, carjacking, assault, theft, and rape).

have you paid any attention to LSU news the past year? There have been a shitload of robberies and whatnot that have happened. And not on the outskirts of campus, IN CENTRAL CAMPUS. I don't know about the data on USC but it is pretty terrible no one the less what has been going on at LSU

I am going back on my word. LA, CA is much much safer than BR LA per capita. Stats from 06. Keep in mind that the 2007 stats for BR LA are MUCH worse in virtually every catergory. KABOOM!

Latest 2006 Crimes per 100,000 People:

Baton Rouge, LA Los Angeles, CA National

Murder: 27.1 12.4 7
Forcible Rape: 44.18 27.3 32.2
Robbery: 498.4 370 205.8
Aggravated Assault: 833.8 377.2 336.5
Burglary: 1910.3 524.8 813.2
Larceny Theft: 4375.1 1539.2 2601.7
Vehicle Theft: 690.8 654.4 501.5

BR dwarfs Los Angeles CA in all crimes per capita.

And unfortunately, we (BR LA) are the blue bars.

are you seriously trying to say that BR is more dangerous than L.A.?

Yes, i am and by a whole lot per capita. Chances of a person being a victim of voilent crime here in BR is much much greater than in L.A., CA. See my post above and keep in mind that the 2007 stats are much worse for BR.

Took me a while. Saw many stats on the 25 best and worst for crime and L.A., CA was never on any of those lists. So I kept searching and finally found a site that compares cities. Pretty grim.

Baton Rouge is Much safer than Los Angeles. Anyone who says other wise is delusional. We dont have anywhere near the gang problems they have there.

Per Capita is overrated. A town can can 10 people living in it and have one nut case come from out of town and kill someone and their murder rate per capita is bigger than a huge city. the best way would be to do murder rate per square mile over the certain area of city limits. Thats how you find out how bad a place is.

LSU is in a mixture of good and bad places. Its surrounded by multi million dollar mansions by the lake and south of campus, but that one little neighborhood right off highland just north of campus is bad. USC is located around bad areas and ok areas, but both the areas around usc and LSU are getting better.

Good spinnin' DJ.

BR has about 500 K. not 10. Eitherway you slice it, the odds of being a crime victim for Joe Blow are much higher in BR LA. Numbers don't lie

I'd rather be in a pool with 10 other people and 1 shark than with 100 other people and 9 sharks,....but maybe thats just me.
