I think Idaho is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S.

I'm jealous, dude.

Eh, Idaho is a gorgeous place to visit, not so much to live IMO.

That's the case with a lot of places in the Northwest. You gotta be careful with the balance between scenic beauty and civilization. I lived in Montana and visited all over the Northwest. There are so many places that are just incredible from a scenic standpoint but would be a nightmare to live in. The people in some of those places are weird as sin because of how disconnected from real society they are.

SLC is the perfect mix. I could absolutely live there. Idaho, however, doesn't have a big enough city for me. You need that city influence to really modernize and socialize the people. I've met some folks in Montana and North Dakota who are weird as frick.

I also think it's funny where most have this opinion of folks in the Northwest as these prairie folk who would give their last buck to a stranger in need. I've found the exact opposite in that most folks in these small towns are sketchballs doing nothing with their life who have no problem stealing from you. You need the city impact so that there are some folks striving for and living a similar career lifestyle.

I guess it depends what you're looking for. Not everyone has the same sensibilities.

I can't imagine the people in those states being any weirder than what I encounter here.

All people are strange in their own way.

I hear people in Seattle suck balls and it's almost impossible to make friends. Who wants to live near that? Even though that's what I hear, I would still give it a shot. Places are different, people are different. That's life.

Yeah, weird and normal are subjective. I like a little weirdness around me.

Seattle isn't as bad as some make it out to be, it depends where you work and where you live within the city. Some districts are much worse than others. I think the modern corporate culture has made it a bit cliquish but I've got a few friends down there and never had any issues.
