Just decreasing the size of the goalie pads.

Bingo. It's absurd what they can wear. Look at film of goalies in the 80s or 90s versus now. Goalies are almost twice as big due to oversized pads. Regulate goalie pads, goal scoring goes up. Oh, and call interference.

They did that twice.

The only thing should be done IMO is decrease the depth of goal by 6" increase wrap around and behind net chances.

They need to go to international ice before increasing net width and height. That's just ignorant and reactionary to gain ADHD crowd.

They will never go to international ice, as it will cost them seats and ticket sales. And it's the best, most expensive tickets in the house.

Goal scoring is going down, and its not all due to better defense. It's attributable to bigger pads (and more athletic goalies) and the return to more clutch and grab tactics. Refs are back to swallowing the whistle. I like defense, too. But mugging players is not defense, it's a penalty.

Wow, capitals blues game on NBCsn looks like it's gonna be awesome. Few minutes in super hard hitting both ways and playing wide open.

Hoping we make it out without injuries

So if the league wants to increase scoring why not start calling penalties again? And also didn't they impose pad size restrictions on goalies a few years back?

Doesn't look like the Predators will fall into the category of games with "low scoring issues" today. 2 in the first against the Fleury

Man Josi has been running hot lately.

3-0 Preds now. At least on that 3rd goal by Nystrom, there wasn't much an average goalie could have done. The defense on the other hand......

The Preds played a great game today and Hutton had a good one as well.

They blanked us at home back in October, now we returned the favor in their barn.

Got a kick out of Neal grinning at MAF like he stole something after Fisher's PP goal.

Too bad the Caps couldn't put the Blues away.

Did they end up losing?

That bastard went full CP31 then blowing a lead and wandering out of his crease.

No truly compelling games tonight:

Florida / Rags: Florida is 4 wins behind at this point. Would need an amazing comeback.

Winnipeg / Calgary: Calgary would need a decisive win for this to be close to meaningful.

Edmonton / San Jose: Edmonton should just forfeit the rest of the season.

I'm still not over blowing that damn game to the Coyotes.

How do you give up 3 unanswered with a 2 goal lead???

Tokarski has gotta be better than that

He has a great mentor in CP31 to learn how to do that.

I mean how do you blow a 3-0 series lead with games 4 and 6 at your arena?

We need Parenteau back.

The Galchenyuk line is a one trick pony without him.

ETA: and who could we get for Plekanec???

That dude has not produced this year
