No Crosby (last second scratch) and no Malkin vs Goons today.

Geno hurt his ankle first shift, returned in 2nd, then left again.

Crosby no one knows.

Wings playing like garbage, then will get whacked by the Pens tomorrow. Looking for that eight seed.

Philly just tossed all their hats for a hat trick, then the first goal of the game got reversed to another player, negating the hat trick.

Weird day up here. Crosby participated in warmups and had no known prior health issue, and he even was penned onto Mike Johnston’s card for the opening faceoff. But he never emerged for the game, and the Penguins’ announcement divulged only that Crosby ‘could not play.’ No mention of injury or ailment.

What I can add, independently, is that I’ve heard it’s a strong possibility Crosby won’t play in tomorrow’s matinee against the Red Wings, either. All I know.

Wtf

One guy saying he may have gotten sick, another says tweaked something during warmups. Who knows.

@ROOTSPORTSPIT: Johnston does not feel Crosby is injured. Repeated that Sid did not feel well. -DP

Both may play tomorrow.

Red Wings fans, what the hell is up with us?

Worst stretch of the season coming at a terrible time. We need to get Helm back.

No Crosby, No Malkin, Greiss in net. We made it easy on them.

Doubt they play vs Wings tomorrow either.

Its they caveman of a head coach. Grabner who was healthy only played 9 minutes tonight. Theey didn't even play their best goal scorer when they were down by 2. That is Cappy logic. Everything he does fails. Presonally, I a hoping that they lose out and miss the playoffs, since that is the only way Capuano will be fired. Enough is enough with his garbage. He makes moved in the game plan that make zero sense. He wouldn't even make it as a college coach, let alone as a friggan NHL coach. Its depressing. This feels like the 2007 NY Mets collapse all over again. 7 game lead in 1st with 17 games to go and they blew it. Biggest collapse in MLB history. Haunts me to this day, and I think that the Islanders will be lucky to even be a 6th seed at this rate. And even if they make the playoffs, they will still be swept. Its over. And its all because of their coach. Enogh is enough, fire I'm, fire his arse right now. I speak for about 99% of sane Islandders fans that this guy needs to go. He is a cancer, and he is the ONLY reason as to why it is impossible for them to move onto the next level. They are still a very young team, ande if they get a competent coach after this season is over, they can still have a very successful future. But keeping Cappy will only guarnettee total failure, year in year out. Heck, I would even take Dan Blysma right now over this ding bat.

The Habs are my favorite to win the East right now. As long as Price stays healthy y'all should win it. Not sure if you guys can beat the west though. The west is pretty stacked.

dude, we do not have the offense to even get back to the ECF like last year. As a matter of fact there's a good chance we are one and done. A bunch of good teams will be done in the first round this year. The east is a BEAST and very deep. Our system is fricked up. Chemistry fricked up. Price cannot score for us.

No, even if by some miracle we won the east, the ducks or blackhawks would prolly destroy us. We might have a shot against the kings though. We are two years away from having a shot to win it all according to most experts and insiders in our franchise. MB is being very patient. We have some good youngsters like Nikita Scherbak and others that should be up by then to go with the others we currently have and finally give us enough offense SUPPOSEDLY.

Pens are totally unhinged right now. Hornqvist got away with spinning Zetterberg and ringing his bell. Then, Abdelkader and Martin were about to scrap, so Kunitz decides to come in and punch Abdelkader. Sutter throws in a trip to give Detroit a 5 on 3. Oh, and Downie got a 10 minute misconduct. And Comeau tried to make a run at Zetterbeg in the corner, but ended up knocking himself out of the game. Then, Kunitz threw the puck when the period ended, got two more serving minutes and a 10 minute misconduct.
