So, you don't think that having a pedo coach would hurt recruiting? You don't think that any controversy in a program hurts recruiting?

And, would covering up a controversy help ensure that the program maintains its current status and isn't hampered by controversy?

sure, that could and probably is true, but is that worth the death penalty everyone in this thread is clamoring for?

Yes, covering up child rape to protect a football program deserves the DP

no it wont. the lawsuits from their cover up will though.

SMU was cheating in football. PSU engaged in a cover up to protect a FORMER coach. no athletic advantage. heinous crime but this isn't the NCAA's deal.

PSU FB program engaged in a coverup, at the behest of their head coach to protect a pedo. LOIC.

and the law suits that will soon plague the school will absolutey punish them

and the FB program should be punished. The FB program covered up crimes.

Are people forgetting that these rapes were essentially allowed to take place IN the football facilities? Or that he was allowed to farm rape victims from football camps that took place IN the football facilities?

PSU is a Tier 1 Research university. Let them be an academic University.

Or that the HC told the VP and AD that they were going to sit on it, instead of reporting the crimes to police.

So they never reported to police. it's insane anyone would say they had control of the institution.

you don't think that football is a huge income getter for the university? how can the school pay off these law suits when they are losing students and have no football profits?

protecting those profits is why they covered up the fricking crimes.

you dont get to keep them because after you got caught, you're sorry.

it wasn't facilitated there, it isn't like PSU gave sandusky the keys and winked at him. they didn't do right after that but isn't like PSU was running a child prositution ring. a former employee took an abhorrent advantage over the school and then they failed to disclose it.

i am not saying they deserve shite, just that it'd be the death of the school and that is why i was saying it'd hurt the students and school when you said it wouldn't matter.

i stand by my idea that the students, alumni, and fans should not be punished because of callous acts of a few corrupt men

Maybe they should have thought about the financial repercussions prior to covering up and enabling the systematic rape of children.

They didn't even take away his keys to the facility once they were made aware.

It's confirmed they knew of his background of child rape and still allowed him unfettered access to the athletic facilities... with children. Moreover, they allowed him to use the facilities to run the camp where he preyed on victims. That's the fricking definition of enabling.

If I was the President of a university and PSU was on my upcoming schedule - the game would be cancelled.
