Tons of movement and it's big news.

LINK

Summary:

Vettel to Ferrari
Kvyat to Red Bull
Alonso likely to McLaren, which probably means Button is out

He was unhappy with the car, and di Montezemolo leaving was the last straw.

In other news, Mercedes still dominating.

F1 is one of those things I have been meaning to get into because I am very fascinated by the technology of those cars. I keep forgetting to do any real research

From what I understand, Vettel always wanted to drive for Ferrari, and they made him a very generous offer. I wonder though, if Newey leaving along with Riccardo whipping him this year had anything to do with it as well ?

Not surprised by Alonso leaving, a little surprised vettel is making the move because of how invested red bull is in him. Even more surprised it isn't Valtteri Bottas taking that Ferrari ride, I think he's capable of so much more than Williams can provide....3rd and 4th place finishes are about the peak performance from Williams.

Evidently Seb had an out built into his contract with Red Bull if he finished below 3rd in the drivers standings.

I could be wrong but I think Williams have already locked in Bottas and Massa for next season.

Really curious now to see who Toro Rosso brings in with Verstappen. Vergne was already out the door, and I doubt he would even want the seat now. Even with Marussia I've been impressed at times by Bianchi. Think he could do well if given an opportunity with an actual F1 team.

The bigger question: Where does Jenson Button go from here? McLaren is going to be an interesting story next year with the new Honda chassis and a team of Alonso and Magnussen, who has been very impressive in his rookie season.

DVRd the qualifying and saw that last night. Gonna be interesting to see what seb can do at Ferrari. Riccardo will be able to do good things next year at RBR. He's looked better than seb all year

Williams is a good team. It's been tough for anyone to crack the top 2 with Mercedes being so dominate. I can only imagine what the points would look like if both cars didn't have the technical issues they've had throughout the season

Start Here....there's some pretty cool videos on the history and tech of F1. It's interesting to see how they balance the tech advances and driver input to keep racing....racing.

I like Vettel, but hope him going to Ferrari doesn't start an era like the 2000's Shumacher/Ferrari.

There is a great thread on reddit (r/formula1) that does a good job of explaining all of the changes for this season and all of the technical stuff. On my phone but I can link it when I get home.

Car isn't good enough for that.

Kevin magnussen in f1 is really young. 21 I think.

And as far as buttons future, I think he's probably on his way out. Crazy that a guy in his early 30s and less than 5 years removed from a championship may have seen his career run its course.

also, Schumacher and Ross Brawn were playing a little loose with the rules in regards to traction control while he was at Benetton and then at Ferrari.

if you go back and research, a lot of drivers were complaining about Schumi's car, starting in '94, all the way through his last championship with Ferrari.
