Forget Ohio State and Bama; USC has a better claim for the 4th playoff spot

Ohio State has ZERO business in the playoff. They got destroyed by 34 points by a completely irrelevant Iowa team. Playoff teams don't lose by 34 to Iowa.

Alabama has ZERO business in the playoff. They finished 2nd in their division, 3rd in their conference, and lost against the only non-mediocre team (Auburn) they played the entire season.

USC is the deserving 4th team. They have 2 losses, just like Ohio State, but those losses were to solid Notre Dame and Washington State teams. I would much rather take a team that got destroyed by Notre Dame than a team that got destroyed by Iowa. IOWA. And unlike Bama, USC has beaten good teams and is a conference champion. USC is the clear choice for #4.

I would have zero problem with this........

OU/USC or Clemson/USC would both be great games........

I can see this

Usc-nd and osu-ou are a wash but losing to Iowa by that much is way worse than sc's loss to wsu

The one argument people will make against this is that USC didn't run over the average and below average teams like Ohio State did (with the exception of Iowa).

I do agree with you though. The fact that USC isn't even in the conversation while Ohio State is is ridiculous.

I agree with you op. USC does not have a bad loss and won their championship. I think maybe a little east coast bias happening here.

So USC lost to notre dame and wazzu and that's somehow better than OSU losing to the #2 team in the country?

USC has beaten one currently ranked team (Stanford) and they beat them twice. They don't have one top 10 win. They also needed a near-miracle to beat a 6-6 Texas team in double OT and they needed a TD with under a minute left in the game to beat a 6-6 Utah team. How do they have a better claim?

I wouldn't say USC is a clear choice, but I definitely wouldn't be against that. USC doesn't have bad losses like Ohio State does and they have some good wins unlike Bama.

Close wins = 30 point loss?
