Prices for Saints games are not through the roof.

-When people realize it's just a game.
-When they realize that monetary the only winners are the owners/players and the only losers are the fans.
-when people realize that there's no "we" since the organization doesn't know that you exist
-when people realize that the reason we root for a team or root against a team is because of our tribalistic instincts.

I answer the man's question. Maybe some of what I said apply to you and the truth stings.

So, once again, why are you on a sports message board?

Could say this about any form of entertainment. I pay the money to be entertained.

Also know as a sense of community. I see it as a positive with sports.

My interest dropped off so much once I stopped playing fantasy football. I've heard others say the same.

If it wasn't for redzone my interest would really be waning

Why does it bother you what I do? I don't care which forum you browse. This is the internet. Some ask for opinions and I give them.

I just asked you for your opinion.

I understand that defending your argument may be mentally taxing.

Community? Please. Sports is just a way for the average joe to feel good about something. Their team wins, they we apart of something special. It's a temporary feel good drug.

You want community feeling? Talk to your neighbor, do charity work, feed the homeless, pick up trash in your neighborhood.

Or, I go tailgate for a game with friends and family that come in from all parts of the country.

Another dumb point. Sports doesn't prevent that from happening. It isn't either/or

Sports communities mean nothing as you are posting on a sports message board. That put you above the average fan, you really care about sports and are into it. You are being hypocritical and a shitty poster at that.

Las year ratings dropped for the conference championship games

Did you read the article?

quote:

In fact, the peak rating for this year’s NFC Championship Game was actually higher than the peak rating for last year’s NFC Championship Game: This year there were 60.5 million viewers watching as the Seahawks scored a touchdown to win in overtime, while last year there were 60.3 million viewers watching as Richard Sherman tipped a pass intended for Michael Crabtree to set up the game-winning interception. But while more people watched the end of this year’s game than the end of last year’s game, last year’s game had a higher average rating because it was close and competitive throughout, which results in more fans staying tuned for all three-plus hours of play. This year’s game looked at halftime like it was going to be a dud, which results in some fans tuning out — even if they came back in time to watch the Seahawks win in overtime.

Did you? Both games were down in ratings as a whole
quote:

The NFL has announced that the Packers-Seahawks game averaged 49.8 million viewers, and the Colts-Patriots game averaged 42.1 million viewers. Those are huge television audiences, and the NFC Championship Game was the most-watched American television show since last year’s Super Bowl.

But while those numbers are great, they’re actually down quite a bit from last year, when the 49ers-Seahawks NFC Championship Game averaged 55.9 million viewers and the Patriots-Broncos AFC Championship Game averaged 51.3 million viewers
.

Yea, i did. The explanation makes sense and is exactly what we did during both games.

Since I edited it after:

The point being that it doesn't illustrate a trend

Well, I don't think it's about defending arguments. You're not someone going all over this board trying to debate/counter debate every arguments. You just spoke up since what I said bothered you because you sensed some truth in it. If I said something outlandish , you wouldn't even bother.

But you try to discredit my posts by making me look contradictory. You logic is: my opinion on sports don't matter since i don't care about sports. But that logic is flawed. In sure you can see that.

So did the rating go down from the previous year on each game or not?

I spoke up because:

1) it is silly
2) it is hypocritical since you are posting on a sports board
3) i have nothing better to do until my wife wakes up

What? Let me ask you again: Why are posting on a sports message board if you don't care about sports?
