Remember this: Floyd has fought every kind of fighter there is. Canelo hasn't. He has no idea what kind of speed, athleticism and ring generalship he's gonna have to deal with on September 14. If he thought Austin Trout gave him problems then he hasn't seen anything yet.
That's a great point. This will be new territory for Alvarez.

It's still a fight, though. And Alvarez has punching power. Anything can happen.

Cinnamon needs to go to the body early, often, & hard. Hit pretty boy in the leeeever with malicious intent.

And that 152 "stipulation" is absolute bullshite since this is for the 154lbs belts. Only in boxing......sigh

That's why boxing sucks. They have 24 belts. Idk who is champion of what. UFC got it right.

I didn't hear any of this when Pacquiao:

-fought Cotto at 145 instead of 147 (for the WELTEREWIGHT title)

-fought Margarito at 150 instead of 154 (for the JR MIDDLEWEIGHT title).

-fought Marquez for the third time at 144 instead of 147 (for the WELTERWEIGHT title)

That's three belts Pacquiao won/kept where the weight limit was BELOW the actual weight class he was winning a title at.

It's definitely possible that Mayweather will "expose" Canelo, but it's not a guarantee, as some of you are suggesting. At this point, I would never bet against Mayweather, regardless of who he's fighting. But some of you don't even seem to be giving Canelo a chance

It is boxing and Canelo has good punching power, therefore he has a shot to get Mayweather. Only thing is Mayweather doesn't allow fighters to land that one shot (much less of a chance against anybody else who would be a heavy favorite).

Money is the best defensive fighter I have ever watched, and the way he works into his opponents head and frustrates them in the ring is an absolute work of art. I love watching the man just dominate his opponent by just making him miss.

Canelo won't be able to contain Mayweather's speed and accuracy and on top of that he will have the most trouble he has ever had landing a solid punch.

This will be an absolute monster PPV draw and will be very good for the sport.

Sept 14 can't get here fast enough

Word is, it was Canelo - not Mayweather - who recommended the catch weight for this fight, supposedly as a way to entice Mayweather to take the fight.

ETA: Not sure if that's true or not. Just something I've heard.

No, he's not ducking, but he is strategically taking this fight at a time when he has a huge payday available, and Canelo is not ready for him. Money is an extremely savvy mofo.

And he rides in on a white horse. That would be epic.

Is it typical for someone age 22 to have already had 43 professional fights?

He turned pro at 15, plus he's Mexican...and Mexicans are known for being extremely active. Many of them turn pro early and don't have much of an amateur background, so they fight a lot at a young age. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was the same way.

shite I just planned a trip to Vegas in August...may have to push it back so I can make the fight. There really isn't anything like a big fight weekend in Vegas.

Cinnamon is the best young fighter in the game. So much for Mayweather ducking tough fights. Hopefully, Mayweather's right hand will be 100% for the fight, because he will need it to slow down Alvarez.

Looks like since Floyd-Canelo has been booked for September 14, Bradley-Marquez will be moved to October 12.

I was in Vegas last year on this same weekend when there were two title fights happening at two separate locations (Martinez vs Chavez Jr & Canelo vs Lopez). Unfortunately none of the people i was with were boxing fans, so I couldn't convince anyone to go to either of the fights. And I would have gone by myself, but I was there for a bachelor party in which i was best man, so I didn't feel right about ducking out from the groom for a night, haha.

Edit: I certainly would have skipped out for this fight, though. :)

I went out his last two fights over cinco de mayo and it was awesome. Hands down the most fun sporting event I have been to.
