Pretty interesting development, I’m curious to see if the SEC tries to squash any tailgates this year or if they do something similar

That’s a fairly realistic way to approach it. People are going to get out of their car and drink a beer.

My fear will be if schools try to use this as an experimentation of doing paid tailgating spots in the name of limiting the number of tailgaters on campus

There’s some LSU higher ups that openly lament that they have thousands walking the campus every Saturday that they make no money on and would love to charge a fee to tailgate

Personally I wish we’d eliminate all fans and tailgating. Going to barely full stadiums that will feel like some DIII school’s game day just seems like a terrible experience. Not sure why allowing a couple of people to have a boring experience is worth risking all of us not being able to watch it on tv if cases spike and the season gets canceled.

Still pretty cool that they serve Patron at their tailgates.

Pretty sure I remember it being some LSU admins that supported this. I assume they are still around.

All came out when they kicked the Greeks out of the parade grounds I believe

But regardless, I just mean that’s some people out there in these campuses that view it that way and all they need is an opportunity like this to be able to flash dollar signs down the road

You would rather have zero fans instead of 10K?

Outside of the masks that seems pretty reasonable.

I mean, even if you are 100 percent anti mask, a guideline that just “encourages” them isn’t unreasonable at all

What about simply encouraging mask wearing is unreasonable?

This could change 100 times between now and kickoff if it occurs.

ND suspended football operations late yesterday. I'm really not sure how you handle this. I 100% support teams who are trying to play, but not sure how you do it if people are going to freak out with every outbreak.

If that continues, it's sadly bye-bye. If people realize of course there are going to be positive tests and you have to deal with that as it comes, then you have a shot

Tailgating is the least of their worries with overreactions running rampant

This is probably not going to be a major issue. As long as they arent trying to use important resources to enforce it, no big deal.

Yeah I’m worried about the same thing if they’ll freak out every case that gets reported

I’ve been to FSU and saw their tailgating, really was weak at best.

3 hours before? That's dumb AF

At least they're leaning towards allowing tailgating. They can improve the details later.
