no telling, if i was hime id be dying to get out...but thats just me i guess.
although to be honest ive gone back and forth over the big name european manager idea...while id love to have just about anyone replace bob at this point, long term im not sure if i prefer the idea of the big time coach, or someone who has a real vision for the long term continued development of the program, who could really cultivate some youth development and really grow our talent base

I applaud the USSF for sticking to the American guys. The last foreign coach we had was Milutinovic in 1994.
Hard to judge Bora because he didn't have near the talent that exists today.
American coaches are great at cultivating talent and what not, but I think they lack the tactical vision that a lot of great European managers have. This is what is missing.

im also convinced we have one other problem...Sunil Galati(i think thats how its spelled) that guy just wants to have to much control over everything, which is why bob is our coach instead of klinsman. he needs to find a good manager then get the hell out of the way

We're weak on the wing, I probably keep Dempsey out wide or maybe even try Edgar Castillo on the wing and just give a bunch of try outs to forwards.

"So I've been playing FIFA 10 all evening and I didn't realize till now how God Awful Terrible Eddie Johnson is."

Oh I was playing with Fulham and used Eddie Johnson. In my first game I beat my fried 5-1, USA over Spain. Charlie with the hat trick. FIFA 10 is so smart, they even have Brian Ching in the starting 11 over Jozy. It's like they know Bob Bradley.
Big Phil is in Uzbekistan BTW.
Interesting statistic, all World Cup winning managers have been native to their country.

my problem with that is that cooper is a clone of jozy...a less talented clone, but he is still the same type of player. a big bull that is trying to use size and power to gain an oppurtunity. we really are going to miss a speed guy on the other side or at least someone who can create their own shot

I think Jozy makes a perfect target forward. Let Donovan and Dempsey sit behind him in a 4-3-2-1. Torres Bradley and Jones as the 3. No width but if Castillo moves in at left back and Spector at right back then we have width there with speed in Castillo and a great servicer with Spector

and i kind of hate to say this, cause he hasnt been really effective on the national level, but i think Adu needs to see more time on the field
He was awesome in the U-20 World Cup a couple of years ago.
Would any of you have predicted during the last World Cup that Adu wouldn't even be in the conversation for starting on the '10 team?

Bob Bradley is going to avoid Jermaine Jones like the plague for as long as is humanly possible. I'm pleased with the Confederations Cup and WC Qualifying, BB has seemed to learn a bit. That piece I posted last week from The Guardian was top notch about BB sometimes erring on the side of caution.
But it's still my belief that he's a VERY political man, and JJ did NOT come up through the USSF/MLS apparatus, so he's not going to be played until all else fails. Look how long it took BB to bring Torres into the squad and then into a match.

Then why did he specifically ask his son to talk to Jermaine Jones and inform him about the rule change?

Good question.
Perhaps I'm wrong about him, which would be encouraging news.

Is there space for Edu on the side? I think he is a must because he can play center back as well as DM. He was playing real well towards the end of last season with Rangers.
We don't seem to have any true wingers, and we have a glut of central midfielders (Feilhaber, Bradley, Jones, Edu, Torres). It does look like we have some depth at back though, as long as everyone gets healthy before the WC. But losing Davies hurts even more,as he seemed to be the difference in the Confed. Cup. I am hoping for a miracle with his recovery.

I think Edu will be a key reserve both for Jones/Bradley as a CDM and for DeMerit/Onyewu in central defense.
I wonder if the US will just go with three central midfielders, Donovan in a free role behind the strikers, and Jozy & Dempsey up front. That's what I have been advocating for a while, and that may actually turn out better than a line-up with a healthy Davies if Dempsey is in form.

This would require great wingplay, which I think we can get as long as we find someone to play at left back. Depending on the combination, a three-man midfield worries me. The best combo looks like Torres, a possession player, Bradley, a box to box player, and Jones, playing right in front of the back line. The wrong combo of players might lead to our midfield being outmuscled. There are a lot of options you can do with the 4-3-3 and its variants, but I'm not sure I trust Bradley enough to feel comfortable with such a formation.
My guess is Bradley will choose something like a 4-5-1 we ran before Charlie entered the starting line up.
