so? ... doesn't make him a bad/fake person ...
simple truth is no one has any idea what phil or any other athlete/celebrity is like in real life, and to infer/opine anything from what you see on tv or have "heard" is willfully ignorant at best ... and he hasn't underachieved in the slightest ... he is unarguably a top 15 goat, maybe top 10 (though not in my book) ... he has won exactly what he should have won according to his talent, as has every other golfer in history ...

I think Phil is the best interview in ALL sports. He's the anti-Derek Jeter.

Phil's the biggest MF'er in the room.
People forget that.

Surprised to see Ray Floyd and Tiger so far away from each other.
There are tons of tour players who are probably HUGE douchebags in real life, and Phil might be that way, but at least he gives a shite enough to fake it in his interviews and more public interactions with fans.

I didn't know Amy had a near death experience after birthing one of the children.

Yeah that was a crazy year for Phil had all kinds of turmoil going on.

Have heard this essentially word for word from some of my buddies that worked at some of the courses here in palm beach county. That and how much Freddie couples LOVES the hookers.

Wrong. Faldo and VJ are bigger guys than phil. If you ever had the pleasure of sharing a sauna with sir nick you would understand this inequivocally.

I'm not sure what he meant there... there's a list here of every year going back to the 80's. Ben Crenshaw took over as Master or Ceremonies after Byron Nelson. He's as big a tradition guy as anyone in the game. No way he lets that die out.

Where do you think Jim Nantz got his phrase "Hello Friends"? From picking up Hookers around Houston with Freddie.
