What a watch on the golf channel. The man is complex.

I hope he asks about the 2004 Ryder cup pairing with Tiger.

I'd like to see him talk about Capitain Watson and how much that sucked playing for him.

also a good one, but that 2004 Ryder cup blew me away. By far the two most opposite players in the world paired together, and were the two best in the world. Sad they went 0-2.

I wanted to see Phil and Tiger throw down . Tiger is a broken down man and Phil is no longer top 10. It's a shame that Lefty never held the number one position in his career...thanks to Tiger

I caught about 5 minutes and it was gold. Decided to wait until I can watch from the beginning.

I used to be meh on Phil.

I used to be an idiot.

I've been a huge fan for a few years now.

His attitude doesn't bother me at all. He seems pretty helpful to young guys on tour. And speaks well of others on tour as well. He works hard and has what seems like a unique view of the game of golf. Nothing wrong with his cockiness when factoring in those things, IMO.

One hell of a player. I love stories of him liking to gamble more than other players on Tour during practice rounds.

I've heard stories of his gambling ruses through some connections on tour that would set some hair on fire. He particularly likes to take out some of the younger, more promising guys and really test them, see if they can handle it, and try to take them along.

Remember that Jordan Spieth/Rickie Fowler/Justin Thomas/Mickelson practice round at the U.S. Open in 2014? Apparently Phil was laying some serious weight down there, trying to rattle Thomas and Spieth. Both were like 20 or 21 years old, and both handled it well. It's good for American golf.

he's been one of the top 5 golfers in the world for a long long time.
And you want him to be humble? Like who? OJ? MJ?

quote:

Mickelson is one of 16 golfers in the history of the sport to win at least three of the four majors.[3] He has won every major except the U.S. Open, where he has finished runner-up a record six times.[4]

Mickelson has spent over 700 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking,[5] has reached a career-high world ranking of 2nd several times and is a life member of the PGA Tour.

Anyone know where I can catch a replay of this episode/older episodes? I loved Feherty's show since it started but haven't gotten to watch for some time

Phil is not liked on tour because of things he says when the cameras are not on him. Let's just say he is no fan of the how many avenues younger up and coming players have to getting tour cards and filling spots in tournaments.

I never took him for being cocky as much as I did confident.

He has this whole "tin cup" component to him that, while self destructive at times, can make for great entertainment in an otherwise buttoned down dull corporate world of professional golf.
