X-No. 11 Western Illinois (6-3, 3-3 Missouri Valley) at Indiana State (0-9, 0-6), 1 p.m. In Playoff mode for the Leathernecks, should be an easy one.

Looks like the SLC went pretty much as planned last night. Appears my Bears had a one-sided track meet last night.

Saw Hero Sports' projections just now. Not sure how reputable that one is, but they still don't have Nicholls in.
I just don't see the SLC becoming a 4-bid league in a week. If Nicholls wins and isn't in, it's a shame, but the SLC is dogshit after the Top 5, and there's a pretty sizable gap between the Top 2 and the next 3.
Some of our fans are still under the impression that we are getting in.

I don't understand how Nicholls is not getting any recognition. Would love for them to get in the playoffs, last time in the playoffs was my freshman year.

I think it has to do with how bad the conference is and what other teams are doing across the nation, but I'm confused about it as well.
Two other conferences are projected to get 4 or 5 bids each. That definitely hurts Nicholls chances of getting in.
Hell, Nicholls hasn't even been ranked. They just aren't getting any recognition.

That's why I refer to the coaches poll, lol. They are ranked there. I'd guess the blowout loss is killing them also.

But hell, it was to Sam Houston, a projected National Seed. The only other loss is to Texas A&M, and it was by 10. Ya'll have 8 eligible wins, an FBS loss, and a loss to a projected National Seed. We have 7 eligible wins, and 2 FCS losses.
I really think it boils down to the fact that the rest of our schedules are utter crap against the SLC. I've seen someone say the SLC is the 6th best conference in the FCS. If that's true, it's only because of the Top 2, MAYBE the Top 4. If the rest of the SLC were a conference on their own, it would be last in the FCS. Garbage.

I saw the Hero write-up as well. I'm holding out hope that the Colonels can somehow get into the playoffs....but I think the strength of the conference really hurts us. Wins over Lamar, IWU & HBU aren't going to impress anyone. The loss to A&M and they way they played should give us a boost...but I doubt it's enough to truly make a difference.
