While I can see where you’re going with this argument, I think it ignores the fact that the VAST majority of those titles were won by a single school. That kind of dominance hasn’t ever been seen in FBS. But I still suspect that the top teams in FBS will win those first round games most of the time.

I do think NDSU beats ND in a rematch....I've seen every team in the Valley and they caught NDSU going through the motions. I have no dog in the fight, but NDSU will be ready and will win a rematch.

MV is a meat grinder....really good teams don't make it and probably more teams should. I think UNI would beat Drake by 2 touchdowns. In that league, everyone beats everyone.

Go Gardner-Webb. Gotta root for the only OVC-Big South representative.

No surprise those programs are dominant when they have one FBS team and no pro sports in their states combined.

Agreed. SDSU may be the only team in country capable of beating NDSU twice in a season.

I’m going to sound like a homer, but we got fricked with having to travel in the first round. Nicholls are a conference champion, swept the conference, and have to go on the road to play a team with the same number of losses and finished SEVENTH in their conference standings. frick the committee

The first round is all about bids. Basically who gives the NCAA the most money. Nicholls used to bid a lot so I'm not sure what happened, maybe they don't think they'll have a great crowd. The second round match up is better then any other time they've played. Getting sent to EWU and NDSU was getting truly fricked over

If you look at the history of FCS winners and finals matchups you’ll see it’s littered with dynasties that eventually get replaced by another.
