Also, Hawaii is missing from this picture. I think all the west coast teams are blacked out for them.

my understanding is that hawaii is blacked out from all the california teams but can get the mariners

alaska is only blacked out from the mariners

Not sure why you're blaming MLB for this, hoss.

NBA and NHL do it too, because they have to as long as they are offered through cable.

blackout rules are negotiated as part of the TV deals, so yeah MLB does have a say so in it.

All of south LA grew up Astros fans so now we get force fed Rangers

I'd bet a huge chunk of south Louisiana grew up as braves fans because they were on TV all the time.

I love my teams, but I won't pay extra to watch them. I listen to them on radio.

MLB is not setting that map.
MLB has the rights to sell its product. They 100% have the power to not allow blackouts while making their deals.

It really is the failure model of the modern CEO. Short term profits with zero care or vision for the future. Squeeze the pennies out of the consumer now and take away the dollars tomorrow.

Explain how Goodell would fix this.

I don't know, but it would somehow involve penalizing the Saints.
