It's gotta suck to be an Ohio state fan. Get in last year ahead of penn state after they lost to them and get dicked down by Clemson just to watch Bama get in ahead of them and watch Bama dick Clemson down

Almost all of the playoffs participants have been conference champions, so yeah it matters, but the committee has shown it's not the end all be all in deciding who gets in.
