So what's the story about Ditka farting? Did he do it on air? Is there a youtube of it?

i think it had more to do with him being a terrible analyst

It had to have been a factor. I don't think that, say, Howie Long would lose his job for running his mouth like that, and that's because Howie Long doesn't fart, sleep, or say stupid shite on screen ever. Not that I didn't like Ditka, because I think he's hilarious, but he's been half a frick-up away from losing his job for a few years now, and I never really found him to be particularly passionate about broadcasting.

Who is the heir apparent? I know Mike Greenberg has been maneuvering behind the scenes for years to replace Berman as "the Voice of ESPN"

That's the million dollar question.

People might not like Boomer anymore but replacing him is like replacing Keith Jackson...maybe even more given the popularity of the NFL. But it's still replacing someone everyone grew up on.

Didn't he blast Obama recently?

Someone joked that he'd be gone and I was like nah.... Sure enough.

Stupid.

He got canned b/c he brings NOTHING to the table. Like most of the junk bs football insider shite ESPN spews. Blaming Ditka being canned on Obama, what kind of morons believe that?????

Don't think they were blaming Obama. Ditka was the one who spewed. He was then shown the door. Like Hank Jr. Much like Hank Jr. he was well passed his prime, and had little to offer. Maybe they were looking for a reason, and Ditka was too ate up with old man rage to not give it to them.

Now would somebody go stick a camera in Berman's face and ask his politics? Then about the Erin Andrews verdict. Please?

If Leather Berman gets canned, I'm taking a day off from work to go on a celebratory drinking binge. You talk about a gasbag who brings nothing to the network.
