30 or more players hit 30 HR and 100 RBI per season. MAYBE 7 pitchers are as dominant as Peavy when healthy. That is all.

No? I like Hanson just as much as the next guy but I'd trade Hanson and Kotchman for Adrian Gonzalez in a heartbeat

Both players are about as close to untouchable as players get. Gonzalez is the most popular player on that team, he's locked up long term to an affordable contract, and he's a Latin player in a city with a very prominent Latino population.

On the Braves end, Hanson is the best pitcher to come through the organization since Adam Wainwright. He's got everything you want in a big time pitcher and I would say there is a zero percent chance he will traded for anybody. And with Freeman on the way, there is no real need to trade for a first baseman just because the offense has sputtered a little bit out of the gate.

The Braves looked like a playoff team in the Philly and Washington series, but since then Chipper and Escobar have been out of the lineup, and McCann is battling some scary eye issue.

With Chipper, Escobar, and McCann healthy and in the lineup, this team is very good. With them out of it, this team is piss poor. That's all there is to it.

You guys are overreacting...Ian Snell will make most teams look inept at the plate.

I'd love to buy this argument, but Prado and Infante have been the only 2 players worth a damn this past week. Ok, I give in...Frenchie Francouer has played well, also.
Maybe when Chipper and Yunel get back, we can put Prado at 1B and Infante in LF/CF and then we may have 4-5 guys contribute. But just having 2 isn't enough.

You really think Prado is a better first baseman than Kotchman? Kotchman may not be great, but he's certainly better than Prado, and his defense alone is enough of a reason to play him. I think it's a little early to push the panic button.

Not at all, as I was being a big facetious. My point was that replacing Prado/Infante with Chipper/Yunel would not have changed the recent outcomes as Prado and Infante have been playing well. The Braves have just been playing awful baseball. Errors, no runs with the bases juiced and 0 outs, etc. Bad, bad baseball.

They should have fricking signed Adam Dunn, the dumbasses. And not that it will really matter either way, but there were actually people(cough, speedy, cough) who thought Garrett Anderson was going to be better than Griffey this year.

YAY chippers back in the lineup and already 3 runs in the first. it's not so much that the guys filling in for chipper/yunel aren't hitting bc yes they are.. but it's just the presence of chipper in the lineup seems to make the team hit better all around. frenchie lookin terrific this season. better plate discipline with the same ol' power.

I was solidly against trading KJ for a left fielder, but Prado is causing me to rethink that. However, when Kelly gets hot, he's damn good.
