I am an avid horse handicapper, and it’s been a nice part time job over the last five or six years for me, and I absolutely love and enjoy it. .

But I will never bet any other type of sport.

However, perhaps there should be some regulation in advertising. Look at cigarettes. They are still legal, but the use of cigarettes has dropped very low. When we were growing up, there were marketing campaigns everywhere about the dangers of smoking. Now, my young daughters start asking questions when they see a cigarette out in public since it is so rare.

I understand there is so much money in legal gambling, but, maybe the solution is to allow us the freedom to partake while moving back to the shadows of society.

Pharmaceutical companies shouldn’t be allowed to advertise either. It’s insane they basically control the narrative of media outlets via marketing dollars

Good one. How am I wrong? If a player gets arrested for vehicular manslaughter, should they not show a car commercial?

And it’s predatory. We stopped cigarette ads because it was proven addictive and destructive but I hear and see ads everywhere “sign up today and receive $500 in free bets”. Might as well offer $500 in free heroin and tell them “always use your heroin responsibly”.
I was watching a video on this last night.

These apps study your habits and try to influence you as well. They send notifications to try and bring people back in when they don’t access the app frequently enough. They send “free” money to rope people back in.

This would be on par with cigarette companies blowing nicotine into the face of someone addicted to cigarettes if they haven’t sparked one in a while or a alcohol company pumping random liquor through an alcoholics water line when they don’t have a drink for a while.

They are predatory as frick and it is hitting Americans particularly hard.

The gambling debt in the USA is already in the billions.

You need to compare apples to apples

Guys sitting at home gambling on teams is a lot different than guys gambling on their team to fail on purpose.

What a stupid fricking post. Nice try though
