That was brutal to watch. I didn't like how they really focused on the last few years so much. I can't stand Cam even more after this show.

This show was great if you like stock footage of people yelling "Roll Tide" and "War Eagle" and/or highlights from the Finebaum show of rednecks yelling into their phones. This was shite to watch.

I hope those callers didn't actually go to school at Bama or Auburn.

What was the point of showing us basically nothing but what happened the last 2 years. Most people in watching such a documentary on Auburn and Alabama, probably know most of what happened the last 2 years.

I thought it was by far the worst 30 for 30. I didn't like it at all. Wish they would have focused more on the games and less on the fans.

I'm biased, but I thought that was a pretty decent episode.

Really?

It was an hour of confirming every stereotype of people from Alabama. Bunch of redneck dumbasses who didn't even go to either school calling into F Bomb's radio show. It's like the director is an LSU or Tenn fan

I hate the Barners and Gumps, but they did a horrible job on this. Bear had like 5 minutes of coverage, and they didn't even mention Bowden's 1st year, under sanctions 11-0 team.

They acted like Auburn should get a fricking medal for helping people in their state recover from disaster. I'm not saying they shouldn't be thanked and acknowledged for helping out, but come on, you really think they would just be like "no, frick Bama, we hate them, glad the tornado hit" and not help out because of a football rivalry?

This was the worst I've seen. It had so much promise, but the idiot director seems to think the past 2 years are the only history between the teams.

ETA: Ross, MJ, etc, I'm sorry ESPN showed the stereotypes of your fanbases. I know a lot of Auburn and Bama students/alumni and they're very intelligent people. If I were a fan of either school, I'd be embarrassed by the way they portrayed y'all.

But I still hate both of those schools.

They should've interviewed more former players to talk about past games and what the game meant to them. I don't see how anyone could care about two random rednecks that happened to be married and supported different teams.

There was so much good stuff left out and too much Finebaum, Updyke, etc.

Of course from ESPN's perspective, they'd think Finebaum, Updyke, idiots, Cam, Ingram, etc. would get better ratings than old-time players talking about the game

Exactly. They chose the absolute worst of the worst redneck lunatic fringe of each fanbase and passed it off as the norm in the state. Harvey Updyke = the spokesman for all Alabama fans according to the documentary.

Not only that, but ZERO mention of Auburn's NCAA past (Eric Ramsey, every head coach being on probation at some point, etc) while prominently featuring Gene Jelks issues at Alabama. Interviewed Bill Curry about fan harrassment from Bama fans but no mention of how Terry Bowden was treated by Auburn people. You know the portrayal of Alabama/Auburn fans is bad when even rival fans that despise both schools say it was unfair.

THIS X 1,000. I did think it was nice to acknowledge the kind acts from Auburn fans but what decent human being wouldn't have helped tornado victims in their own state? The show made it sound like Auburn fans were being pristine gracious heroes for overlooking all the evil acts Bama fans have done to Auburn by helping a bunch of tree poisoning Bama fans who have done nothing but abuse poor Auburn fans all their lives. No mention at all of Tide for Toomers.

Once again, excellent point. ESPN wouldn't have interviewed the Unabomber (Michigan grad) or Casey Anthony (Ohio State fan) if doing a documentary on Ohio State/Michigan rivalry. With this documentary, we get Harvey Updyke as the spokesman for Alabama people and Auburn gets Tammy and Charles from Reeltown.
