That's true. The game is too fast for refs nowadays. The guys are so big and athletic, it's hard to officiate. But as Donaghy pointed out in his book about fixing a game, all it takes is one or two fouls on the right players and you can effect the entire game. You can put two quick fouls on a defensive stopper, and now the defense is forced to lay off and let the other team score. Or if they don't call a foul on a key player on the opposing team, he never gets into foul trouble and plays the entire game.
