Eddie Hall vs. Hafþór Björnsson fight off, Eddie tore bicep

The fight is apparently going to be moved until next year. Eddie tore his bicep during sparring and has had surgery to repair it. The fight will be in March or April. The remainder of the card in September will go on with a possible Thir fight with a new opponent.

It was going to be a shite show anyway. I've seen video of both guys sparring and Eddie is right at intermediate amateur level and Thor is way less than that. Thor would have to improve to even be considered much more than beginner level.
Eddie throws with more conviction and power from what I've seen while Thor is mainly an arm puncher and gets no "from the ground up' power.

Two guys with their size and power going at it with minimal training seems like a recipe for some nasty injuries

It was/is a shitshow I actually wanted to see.
I see Eddie's skill (as it is) like you do but many of the boxing pundits saw it the other way around. The disparity in how I saw it and how people that should know more than me saw it was one of the reasons I was intrigued, plus I don't like Thor.

If I recall correctly Eddie was a swimmer and trained boxing (I don’t know the extent) prior to his strongman days so I’m not surprised if he’s at that level.

Who are these people?
Both massive professional strongmen who competed in the World's Strongman Competition.
Plus Thor was in "Game Of Thrones" as "The Mountain".

You are correct, he was a swimmer in his youth before he took up bodybuilding and from what I recall, quite good at it.
The videos I've seen of Eddie sparring show a guy with more fluid punching ability and having better footwork.
Thor is a plodder and arm puncher from what I've seen on the few videos of him sparring. Not sure how old they were or if he's made more progress in his technique, but if a betting man, I'd take the shorter, lighter Eddie Hall to win that match on skill level alone.
That is, if they both don't gas after a round and a half.

From what I've seen, Eddie Hall has been training pretty hard and has cut considerable weight from his strongman days to compete in this fight. I believe he is taking it a bit more serious than Thor.
How this injury will set back his training is to be seen. He can at least run, cycle or do some other aerobic exercises, but not spar, hit bags, jump rope, etc. as long as he is healing and in rehab.

Thor was actually a pro basketball player (not sure how Iceland's pro players stack up against even small school college basketball here) prior to Strongman. He had some sort of injury that ended his career.

He tore his biceps because he is a roided up loser who would be a nobody without steroids

Not sure on his boxing training, but Thor is taking his diet and cardio pretty seriously. I think he trimmed about 100 pounds from his frame.

I hope these guys retain most of their current size going into the rescheduled date. It would hardly be worth watching if both guys continue dropping weight and end up being 250 lb by fight time.
