I'm way late to the party, and I didn't see the play, but if you're LeBron James and you only react when you're truly hurt, you won't get a single call. Ever.
Don't get me wrong, some of the flops are ridiculous, but the idea that he gets superstar calls is absolutely ridiculous. He legitimately gets fouled on most drives to the basket and still only takes 6-8 FTAs per game on average.

It was an offensive foul and it was very clear warding off with the arm. I think he could've gotten the call without the histrionics

Fair, but they'll need to call fouls accurately. Does flopping suck? Yes. Does it make up for the multitude of missed fouls that occur during the game? Yes.

That is my point. The flops suck but if you go out there and play like a tough guy and just deal with the calls, you'll get hacked relentlessly.
Think about pick up basketball. The teams I've played on never, ever called a foul. It was sort of like a point of pride for us, but we were hacked like a mofo as a result. Eventually that gets frustrating, and I'd imagine it is exponentially so if you're an NBA player in the playoffs.
