when you don't have the greatest talent?

I say basketball.

mainly the fact you can improve talent you have rather easily with drills and just reps. Also the schemes you can apply. esp in the levels around high school like just running full court presses and wearing people down.

i would not call it easy. but i think you have a better shot at being successful but you will have to coach your arse off

I dunno, there are teams like Kansas that win BCS games without the best talent. I think schemes by coaches mean a lot more in football

I would agree with that! Because if you screw up, no one will ever know because no one is watching that crap!

when you have good players it's easy, but when your players aren't very good, it's challenging.

Volleyball. I coached winter league and I had athletes. I just stood there and called the occasional time out if the other team was getting back in the game.

I have seen far less talented teams compete with much better teams by playing kickball and packing the box.

i hope you were kidding. there is so much strategy that goes into a game of basketball even at the high school level. calling plays, setting defenses, finding the best matchups, getting timeouts at the appropriate times, etc.

soccer is my answer...just because coaches rarely influence the game after the starting whistle of each half.

baseball without a doubt.
you make the lineup. and then your done. occasional PH, pitching change, walking out to mound.
they don't even call the pitches.
hey lets do a hit and run here.
hey you steal 2nd when you get a chance.
lets' bunt the runners over.

you don't need coaching to make these decisions. you need professional athletes that have some sort of knowledge of the game.
