One thing this does make me appreciate is how consistently the NFL HOF nails the busts. they have never had this issue.

I've read that a lot of the bad statues you see are because they are rushed because they give the artist a deadline like a month or so when they request it. And they commission the same company and get good prices, you get what you pay for.

The Statue of David took Michelangelo 3 years for reference. It wouldn't look as good if he was only given a month. I'm sure the NFL HOF has good busts because they give the artists enough time to do good work and don't try to commission the lowest bidder. Plus they're only busts and not full bodied statues.

We do have lots of good artists out there in the world, but the best art often doesn't intersect corporate interests without being compromised.

He wants to make his boy turn into a girl, so I have no problem with his statue not looking like him

Now i’m reading article about the sculpture for the HOF.

He also did Neyland’s sculpture for Tennessee and Wooden’s for UCLA.

he’s very good.

HOF classes are usually announced in march and the ceremony is in august.

the article i read indicated he doesn’t take measurements until they’re announced but that still gives him 5 months with assistants doing some.

I looked at the studio who did Wade’s and they’re not great with faces but they did a good Mj statue.
