quote:

"He was late for work, he broke a team rule, and we are going to change the culture here — regardless of how well a guy is playing," Acta said. "And it was a bizarre situation, because he was doing something that we encourage our players to do: He was out in the community doing something for some Little League program and just showed up late to work. He was very remorseful about it. He felt bad, but we have to lay the law on whoever."

Too bad Acta won't be around much longer to "change the culture".

Dude needs to worry about finding a back end bullpen instead of how late players are coming in

What a crock of shite.

Obviously, showing up on time for work hasn't payed off too well for the Nationals anyways.

To be fair to Acta, if the rule is dont be late then he was in the right, no matter what the cause was. The bad part of this situation was the Nats decided to make it public and announce the penalty to Dukes before it happend again. We do not know if Dukes has been late before, so the punishment may fit the offense.

Thank God. Milledge did the same shite and still got to start. It is complete bullshite. Acta plays favorites. I can't wait until he is gone. Dukes is one of the few bright spots on this abysmal season.

I'm all for the franchise setting a tone, but when you contradict yourself like Acta did, it just makes everyone look bad.

Dukes or other National players should say they will no longer to any charity work associated with the Nats until the season is over.

Why is everyone calling them the "Nationals"? Their unis clearly say "Natinals". Go "Natinals"!
