Was ESPN really trying to make a big deal about Duke's celebration? We live in an emasculated society. Duke had nothing to apologize for

Duke still has the same flaws that I was ripping earlier, and i still dont think Kelly and Curry will win them a championship because they are so one dimensional, but damn am I ecstatic.
K made great adjustments to the lineup once UNC started to pull away, and Duke got mentally tough (for once). Rivers is a gamer and has my undying gratitude. Never backed down once. What a game

How is Duke's perimeter d?
Say for example a team had a tall white guy who was basically the best 3pt shooter and free throw shooter in the conference.
Do you think they would be able to cover him sufficiently or could he go off for 5 or 6 3's?
Consider this man to be white. Hypothetically.

If it's just one guy as the offense, they'd be fine because they could focus primarily on him. Otherwise, one of the worst Duke perimeter D's I've ever seen (see Ohio st). Curry is good at anticipating passes for steals, but is a bad perimeter defender. Rivers isn't particularly good either, and as noted by someone else, Thornton's D is incredibly overrated. He's tough but has no length. Dawkins makes the odd transition steal but plays no D at all. So if they played a team that lights it up, they would be in trouble

Wood is basically a spot-up shooter, right? I think Dawkins is pretty decent at staying home and guarding a standstill player. When it comes to using his brain and moving at the same time though, he is screwed.
Basically the same as he is on offense.

They are talking about this being a top 5 finish in the history of this rivalry......hell, I can't think of another one that is better. Both in the top 10.....one team comes back down double digits with 2 minutes to go, hits a 3 to win by 1 as the buzzer sounds. What game in this rivalry had a wilder ending then that? Hell UNC tipped the ball in for Duke for good measure during that run.

It'll definitely be up there with Capel and the Duhon layup whenever they play montages from this rivalry. This is the only game winning buzzer beater I can think of

The Capel shot to send the game into OT (Duke ended up losing) and the Duhon layup in the Dean Dome are the only other semi-recent games that compare. This one didn't feel like a close game the whole 2nd half but that Thornton 3 changed the game. Was an awesome finish, thank you Zeller!

I was thinking about the Capel game and Duke was terrible that year. I don't know if that helps or hurts, but either way crazy finish aside UNC still won that one. IMO the Duhon layup just doesn't compare to this. Duke won that game without leading for any clock time AT ALL in the second half. UNC lead the entire 20 minutes because the ball went in after the buzzer.

As the game wound down, I couldn't help but think about the Duke-Maryland game from 2001 in Cole Field House where the Terps blew a huge lead, albeit with much less time on the clock.

I don't even want to check my facebook now.
My Twitter was overrun by people I know that claimed to be Duke fans just so they could rub it in. I hate that.
