Obviously thats half your top 10 right, those guys go without saying. Just look at their records

The fact some of you think this is a reasonable rebuttle is hysterical.

Where did this myth start?

Average defensive rank of the Broncos in the 3 seasons they lost in the SB was 7th.

Why do people act like he actually drug a shite team to Super Bowls?
Also, in 1989 Elway ranked 17th in passer rating and the Broncos 23rd in passing yards. But 6th in rushing and 1st in the NFL in points against, but Elways ALWAYS gets credit for dragging these nobodies to a SB...WTF?

Yea, cause that's a totally apples to apples comparison.

And??? That meant he was coming off breaking the comp % record again, and was closing in on the All time passing yards record

At the time of his retirement, Staubach was 19th all-time in passing yards and 23rd in passing TDs. Brees will be #1 or #2 all-time in both lists when he retires. At the time of his retirement, Staubach was #6 all-time in completion percentage which is tremendous. Brees is #1 all-time in completion percentage. Staubach made the Pro Bowl six times. Brees has made 13 Pro Bowls. What argument does Staubach have over Brees except ringz?

In fairness, didn't Staubach start his career much later because of service in the Navy?

There is no doubt Elway absolutely belongs on this list. People comparing Brees to Elway is laughable. Elway had the physical tools to play in any era and in any system, while Brees on those early Denver teams would have been a bust. Not only that but Elway was always clutch, while Brees has a 1-7 career road playoff record.

This isn’t a top 10 all time list, it’s a “tell the story of the game” list. Having said that, Rodgers absolutely should be on there instead of Favre.

I didn’t say they were shite, I said they were okay.

Stats only tell part of the story.

Easily. Green Bay clearly upgraded at QB when Rodgers took over. Favre made a lot of amazing plays but he threw a lot of horrific interceptions at the worst possible times, including those two brutal throws in NFCCGs.

Rodgers shouldn’t have even been nominated

He did. Only started 114 games in 10 seasons.

Yes, but years in the league should also matter.

Even if you thought Staubach was slightly than Brees, you'd logically still prefer 19 years of Brees production over 8 years(full years, 11 total) of Staubach.

Yeah that’s definitely not how they went about this, nor should it have been

I'm not arguing for Staubach over Brees, but I do think his military service delaying his career should be considered and not counted against him.

Not to mention 2009 where head was unequivocally better than Peyton Manning legitimately across the board, and Peyton got MVP somehow.

I still wonder if that 3 game losing streak cost Drew at that time.

It’s really not . Elway is just better . Went to more Super Bowls won more Super Bowls . Drew is a product of the game today . Bridgewater went undefeated replacing him . I mean Bree’s is good but he isn’t top 10 of all time . Stats aren’t everything . Plus if Drew played went Starbuach did I don’t think drew makes it 10 years . Do people realize how protected qb’s are now ? Plus the rule changes that favor offenses .

ETA . They just had a committee of no bodies vote on this . Take off your homer glasses
