Looking at his Saints splits for the last 15 seasons, I bet no other quarterback comes close to some of his numbers during that time period, especially the yards/game and completion percentages.

I’d think not on yards/game.

Brees shattered Marino’s yardage records and did it year in year out while healthy.

pretty obvious there is a direct correlation between decreases in passes and his team having a better record

Maybe

Probably has more to do with having some of the worst defenses in NFL history

ETA: and Payton not abandoning a running game

If nothing else he deserves another trip to the Super Bowl after the fricking farce that was the 2018 NFCCG

Would be soooo sweet. This will be the most nerve racking playoff games I've ever watched for that reason, even knowing it probably won't end how I want it too.

Yep. For his generation, I honestly think between Brees/Rodgers/Brady they're basically interchangeable. You can argue with merit any of the 3 as the best of the group. Rodgers at his peak was a notch above, and Mahomes appears to be 2 notches above, but we'll see how it plays out.

The small consolation out of that is that the Rams appeared to have played their way out of contention for the next 5-6 years thanks to going hard for their return to LA and then getting buttfricked by Brady.

09 was the bigger crime. I at least understood 2011.
