This in and of itself is unimpressive. But Tom's got 5 Superbowl rings. Drew only has 1. So he has to hold onto those stats more so.

So if you are not the best of all time you suck.

Got it.

Very true. I didn't think about that which makes Favre and Brady much more impressive. Peyton only had to deal with the cold for a few seasons.

Rodgers too.

If you passed for 70k yards but only won 1 Super Bowl, played your career in a weak division, and played in a dome... he's not impressed.

If you combine his super bowl rings with Peyton manning’s they would just need 2 more to tie Tom Brady

I mean if y'all are cool with him being objectively like the 4th/5th best of all time that's cool. But the Saints have always been ok with general mediocrity so it makes sense.

4th or 5th best quarterback of all time?

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I'm just saying the Saints will settle for less than the very best. Champions won't.

you have to think once Brees and Brady are done, those records should be safe for a long time. The NFL is really struggling with young QB talent.

Hopefully Carson Wentz can come back and be pretty good. The league needs superstar QBs

If Brady is the goat, then Brees is the kid

It’s a 2 way street. If I say drew brees is a top 10 all time QB, saints talk will say I’m shitting on him

What those yards got you has to matter. It just does. So many variables a couple thousand yards or 50 TDs doesnt really settle who is best when you’re talking about those numbers

7 conference titles and 5 Super Bowls in the era of free agency. Now on the subject of weak divisions, the AFC East & AFC South have been weaker since the nfc South since they realigned the divisions

I don't think there is a GOAT QB. There are too many variables that a QB cannot control. There's a Mount Rushmore / Mount Olympus where the truly great ones go.

ETA: Stats definitely don't settle the GOAT debate. They are merely a factor. Hell, rockeater Eli Manning is #7 in yards #8 in TDs.

There is. He lives in Massachusetts, went to Michigan, and is married to a super model.

What makes him better than Joe Montana? The one ring?

Yes. That's literally what the entire game is about.

agree, but you kind of can...brady took team friendly deals freeing up cap space

manning and brees (who was a bargain and during that time the saints surprise surprise won a super bowl and would have won 2 if not for the final drive in SF) said "frick you, pay me"

and I don't blame them, but that's something that's definitely within their control. of course it takes trust that the savings will be well spent.

Oh lord. I love the "rings are all that matter when determining who is better" argument. Y'all should have learned from those that went before you.

Ok. You win the argument. Drew Brees with his 1 ring and 70k yards is better than Tom Brady and his 5 rings and however many yards he has. There's one stat that matters. Wins. And there's one win a season that means more than the rest of them and that's the super bowl. Tom has 5. Drew has 1.
