The bottom-feeder G5 teams would go back to FCS where they belong. Every so often (4, 8, or 10 years) would be relegation/realignment season as teams can be eligible for being moved down or up depending on record over the previous period. It sets up “Relegation Bowls” between the teams eligible to be moved down and those eligible to move up. The winning team gets to be in FBS, the loser in FCS.

Can you imagine in 10 years Kansas playing in a Bowl Game against North Dakota St where the winner gets a shot at being in the Big 12?

If a team like App St was demoted to FCS, imagine them playing a relegation bowl game verses Vandy to get into the SEC.

FGs: 30yds or > = 3 pts; 40yds or > = 4 pts; 50yds or > = 5 pts; 60ydsor > = 6 pts

Defense: allow bump and run

Safeties: 6 pts.

Change spotting to ball location.

Goal line and line to gain: RFID in ball, chains, goal line, and pylons.

Reduce eligible receivers by 1 but leave eligible ball carriers. Accomplish this by allowing 8 on line of scrimmage.

OR

Allow defense to utilize 12 defenders twice per given quarter but only on first, second, or third downs.

KOs: From the 30, ball must be punted or squibbed, kicking team must remain in set position until kicker’s foot contacts ball, receiving team may line up to 5 players within 5yds of kicking team’s line (30) but must remain set until kicker’s foot contacts ball, onsides kicks must travel 10yds before being touched by either team.

Touchbacks: All touchbacks placed at the receiving team 35yd line.
