"Why does Maria Taylor have a vote? Real question," Gottlieb wrote in a response to a since-deleted tweet. "She is a studio host/sideline reporter in her first year covering the NBA. She works a ton, not just on the league. No reason for her to have a vote."

Taylor then responded to his tweet, saying that her playing experience and coverage of the league makes her more than qualified to deserve a vote.

Gottlieb's comments were likely sparked from Taylor forgetting to vote for Anthony Davis for any of the three All-NBA teams, something that she already owned up to and apologized for earlier today, calling it a "clear mistake."

I mean I kind of agree with him. The whole media voting is so stupid

Then who's supposed to vote? Players? Fans? Cause that's worse.

Playing experience? I thought she was a former volleyball player.

Why not the coaches? Or have a committee in the league office or ex players

This applies to Ernie Johnson too and he has a vote.

If she's in her first year covering the league she probably doesn't deserve a vote.

With that said, not something I really care too much about.

Coaches wouldn't care and players would get pissy when they found out their votes. People in the league office aren't necessarily basketball experts, it's a business after all. Ex-players might be the worse because they'll be mad at guys for getting away with stuff they couldn't back in their day (Harden's All-NBA days would be over).

And, yet, she somehow leaves off Anthony Davis. She called it a mistake but that’s a colossal mistake. If she doesn’t want to get criticized, she should pay attention to what she’s doing. That’s an egregious error.

Hard pass.

You ever heard some of the basketball opinions from ex-players? Ex-players seem way more susceptible to biases with guys they played with/against and feelings that tie back to their particular playing era.
