He really doesnt. As a huge Kobe fan, looking over both of their careers objectively. I strongly believe Duncan was the better player.

Everyone in the entire world knows who Kobe Bryant is. Few people outside of the basketball world really knows who Tim Duncan is. It doesnt help that Kobe has a huge personality and played his career in L.A. Meanwhile Tim was basically a quiet introvert his whole career playing in San Antonio. Kobe has made millions and millions of dollars from endorsements alone. Meanwhile I could probably count the number of times on my hand I have seen Duncan in a commercial. It even shows with how they retired. Kobe basically made the Lakers waste an entire season just so he could have his retirement tour. Meanwhile, Tim quietly retired with a letter following the NBA season.

Anyone who knows ball knows Tim is a top 10 player of all time. Unfortunately, majority of people who watch basketball dont actually know ball.

Not a popular opinion but I always thought KG was just as good if not better than Duncan. He just had the unfortunate luck of having the worst team management of any NBA superstar in the history of the game. And Duncan's situation was obviously the opposite. He stepped into a team with Gregg Popovich as HC, RC Buford, and a very good veteran corps of players led by David Robinson.

When 1200AM WOAI's Bill Schoening says he's "all lubed up" before the game, was he still talking about basketball?

He's the best PF of all-time. If most people view him as such, yes. If not, no.

The Rabbit Hole just got deeper.

Sounds as if he would have reason to need the 'lube'.

The red light signal lit pregame. Duncan more than donuts downlow.

DUNCAN 5/1/6 in Finals appearances with victories against Heat, Nets, pistons, knicks, Cavs.

Lost one Finals against a Ray Allen led Heat team.

50 wins is nothing noteworthy.. The locker room has fallen apart since Duncan left. And they haven’t and won’t come close to winning a title for the reimainder of pops tenure. Duncan > pop. And I love pop.

This 'Pops system' is exaggerated. Even he says his system was Tim Duncan( Robinson).

If his systems wins anything of note over the next decade without Duncan............

Duncan proved it on the court time and time again. He should be in the conversation with Kobe/MJ/Lebron.

Perfected, and never duplicated. Malone never liked going glass. He preferred the sound of net.

Duncan knew he was a bad mofo and never let it go to his head. He never made a scene, but he bitched about calls all the damn time. He and LeBron all time.

Nah he'd also raise his hand if he agreed with the call. Everyone just remembers his cartoony wide eyed face when he didn't

As good ? Certainly. Tim Duncan ( like Magic Johnson) stepped into one of the best situations ever with essentially a 60 win Franchise with Robinson/ Elliot.

I remember some of those T' Wolves teams with KG' s best teammates were Wally Szerbiak(?) and Troy Hudson . He dragged them to the playoffs routinely and finally wwent to the WCF with an aging Sprewell / Cassell as 2 of his best teammates ever.

You can't sneak in Kobe into a conversation where he doesn't belong.

Top 12? Sure. Top 5? AYSM?

I don't remember Duncan being "too important to society" to not speak up about something, so no.
