i'm for once in total agreement with PJ. Grafs pain in the arse/defensive backhand would piss off Serena to no end. Always hated watching her hit that way, but it works very well.

No because most tennis fans are yuppie white people that can't stand the fact that a colored person is dominating their sport. Same goes for Tiger and golf

Good lord man you're really getting up there. Haha just kidding I'm in my 40s. I don't see Serena passing Steffi. Also I agree with poster that Seles gets a bad deal in this conversation. She had overtaken Graf for #1 in the world when she got stabbed and I agree she never really was the same after that. Kind of weird she was stabbed by an insane Graf fan and Steffi reclaimed the #1 ranking shortly thereafter.

Graf clearly has had the best career. I also openly dislike Serena mainly because I hate when people seemingly take their athletic abilities for granted and don't apply themselves fully which I believe she's done.
Having said that, I'd probably give Serena the edge head to head, especially if she's in shape and moving well. It would be a slight edge though. Graf is a pro's pro who was a champ in every sense of the word and wouldn't go down without a fight.

I agree, Seles was a killer & she was dominating one of the best ever in Graf. It really sucked watching that happen to her career.

It's hard to really call her the best just because you can't predict the future, but to not mention her I think is a disservice to her accomplishments.

It would be a XL serving for sure. But would she be able to whip Serena between the white lines? A battle between power and finess. Would probably be a 5 set toss up IMO.
