Tune in to Kentucky vs Vandy and it's incredible.

There are 15K fans in the arena, coaches yelling at the top of their lungs, and players a shite-talking and yelling out plays on the floor throughout the game, yet, the loudest sound you hear during the broadcast is shoe squeeks.

Even during a technical, when literally no one was moving, we had some chirps on the broadcast.

It's like they have someone in the truck working the squeeks like a laugh track on a 70s sitcom.

The magic was really gone when CBS started putting in bird chirps and leaves rustling at Augusta.

A clean floor with fresh kicks plus directional mics, I can see the sounds being real but amplified.

Lofty observation, mate. All we need is Bill Rafferty howling about a "DIPSY DOOOOO!"

I like how CBS got called out for piping in a non indigenous bird during one golf tournament.

They have mics right on the floor to pick up the squeeks and other noises.

Which is even funnier, because it's like Augusta is in a bubble. You hardly see anything while on the course in regards to nature...it's odd, actually.

I’d guess the crowds keep the birds away but it’s in the middle of the city so there probably isn’t much else as far as wildlife.

It's a couple of miles from actual downtown. Plus, Augusta isn't much of a "city".

Dam this thread. Now I'm watching this Princeton/Cornell game and can't un-hear the piped in squeaks

shite, it’s just a 100k smaller than Baton Rouge but feels weird to call it a city.
