Yes, and as soon as this year.

I think they'll lose to both VT and Oregon State. Both should be physical and able to run the ball down Boise's throat. They were able to matchup with Oregon last year both because the ducks played and were coached like dogshit, but also because they didn't have really physical lines. Both VT and OSU should this year

Not this year. I was really hoping that they would have wound up in the Pac-10 to see what they could do in a BCS conference rather than playing the pity card every year.

They'll be in the MWC at least, where they'll have BYU and TCU every year. It's a clear step up

8-4 9-3 at best before the bowls

I want them to simply so they get their shite pushed in and we don't have to hear about this crap anymore.

once they take that step... they'll have a chance to make a run if they keep a similar OOC schedule to the one they have now
but this year... not a chance

The Broncos will be favored in every game they play. And they have the QB play to win all of them.

Nobody doubts BSU can go undefeated. The question is about whether their computer score would then be high enough to have any chance to get into the NCG

and that has absolutely nothing to do with them playing for a title this year
my point is that even if they go undefeated, they don't have the schedule to play for it all.
on another note, is Vegas really favoring them to beat Va Tech? I might need to start betting.

80k hokies fans that night might think other wise

I really think this is their year. They've been taking baby steps towards just this type of scenario.
Beating Oklahoma for their first BCS bowl win was step one. Beating TCU in the first BCS bowl featuring two non-traditional powers from non BCS conferences was step two.
Obviously, they would need some help. But if BSU is undefeated, it would be very hard to put two one loss teams ahead of them this year.
And don't underestimate the growing anti-SEC movement. There is a lot of unresolved penis envy around the country for the conference with the last four BCS titles.

do you really not understand how little the computers care? Do you put any thought into your posts at all?
the whole point is that it doesn't matter if the voters put two one-loss teams ahead of Boise. The computers would probably do it for them.
The computers don't care about baby steps.
The computers don't care what they did last year.
The computers don't care about a ridiculous "anti-SEC" movement.
The computers don't care about a fluke Fiesta bowl win.
The computers care what you do this season with the schedule you laid out for yourself.
If the schedule isn't good enough, BSU won't get the credit, no matter how much you think they deserve it.

Calmly my friend. Obviously this is a touchy subject to you. I myself am arguing from sheer boredom.
Let me repeat what I said: if BSU is undefeated and the other title candidates aren't, the Broncos will have a chance to play in the title game.

it's not a touchy subject at all. you're just displaying your ignorance of the system in place and I'm trying to tell you why you're ignorant.

I'll consider the source and not sweat the uncalled-for name calling.
If you're saying it couldn't happen, you may be in for a shock. And will you be man enough to come back and take your lumps?

I seriously doubt Boise will be favored over VT in DC. The public would slam that line

I've already outlined the scenario where it could happen... even if all the stars align for them (i.e, they're the only undefeated team left) then it's still a very slim chance.
People who say that this is Boise State's year are simply ignorant of the system in place. It's nothing personal against you, and it's not name calling... "ignorant" is an adjective, not a noun.
