Wasn't he a high school football reporter who was upgraded to fill an open position? I'm not so wild about Detillier either. He constantly lets you know that he is THE expert.

Deuce has his problems with malapropisms but he damned sure knows football on both sides of the ball, far better than most I've heard in my lifetime. Bobby always has done his homework on stats and probabilities. Love it when Deuce talks about position technique when Bobby makes WTF claims.

I wouldn't rag on WWL too much. Josh Innes is an arse clown and was on the CBS owned affiliate in Houston. Don't know if he's still there or not.

Haven't listen to WWL in years.

Is that Corey dude still around?

I think his last name is Johnson, but not sure.

October 2014.

I believe it was after the Detroit game.

A listener called 911 and paramedics went to the station to check on him.

Deke hasn’t showed up anywhere since leaving?

Those who downvoted the post that he was fired because of drugs - I can tell you is that is the rumor in the Amite/Independence area

I graduated Amite High school and I'm not much younger than Deke and I can tell you that the Opiate problem in that city is big and rampant. As for Deke I haven't talked to him in about 8 years, but I'm friends with a few of his relatives. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if this were true, but I can't confirm it because I haven't wanted to ask.

My question is, why did Deke continue to commute from Amite to New Orleans everyday? Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to just get an apartment in New Orleans?

It's only an hour drive at most and you get way more bang for your buck on house size in Amite. I guess that and he didn't want to uproot his family. the Amite/Independence corridor is pretty much little Italy in Louisiana so he is related to a few of the more well known families in the area.

Also, what was up with his accent?

The majority of the people I meet from Tangipahoa have a southern twang, not a New Orleans/Jersey accent. Is this the Little Italy influence you spoke about?

My theory is, drugs caused the point after stroke, and the firing.

At least they waited until after the 2017 football season to let him go.
