Dude, I"m telling you, they changed the grass in 2002. They didn't change it again after that.

If you can find evidence of a subsequent alteration to the surface, feel free to post and I'll gladly admit I'm wrong, but "I watched the matches and the courts were fast" isn't cutting it.

Grass was still fast as frick in 2003 and 2004, and both years Roddick steamrolled everyone until losing to fed

Peak Roddick on prime was fricking epic. I don't remember which final it was, but it was one of the earlier ones and I still claim that one rain delay fricked him. He was up a set and a break and was absolutely BLASTING the ball. He looked like something out of a video game.

If I remember correctly he was up a set and a break, and then the rain delay happened. From that point on I don't know if it went to his head and he got more conservative or what, but Fed clobbered him after the delay. Without that momentum swing it looked like Roddick was gonna be unbeatable.

I'm a Fedtard, but I was rooting for Roddick in '09 and will never get over this chunk volley.

I know the clip without clicking the link.

No chance I even think about clicking that link.

I'm actually not gonna disagree with pride that Roddick is probably historically underrated.

My issue with Roddick is that I think he played a role in the reality that there hasn't been an american tennis player since Agassi who can hit a goddamn backhand. Roddick got away with it, but it was a bad template that kids followed.
