The part about 2-3-2 that feels wrong is that there's a point in the series where the lower seed has had more home games. Whereas in 2-2-1-1-1 that never happens. Odd numbered games in the series represent games that the two team could potentially be tied (1-1 game three, 2-2 game five, 3-3 game seven). In the 2-3-2 format the lower seed gets two of those at home, where in the 2-2-1-1-1 format, the higher seed gets 2 of them, plus it's the only two that could also potentially be elimination games. Just feels wrong to give the lower seed more of those than the higher seed, the higher seed should get game five.

Hard to do it in a finals, but 2-2-2-1 would be great based on seeding in the different conferences/leagues. Higher seed gets the first two. Lower gets the next. Then the advantage of higher seed stays unless there’s a game seven. At that point you’ve had four chances to win at home.

6-1. If the worst team can make it that give them 7 at home
